Climats (tilesets)
Main ideas
I think that one climat for each race (by now three) and two-three more should be enough for this type of game. Firstly we need define what is climat. It's specification should contain:
- Weather conditions
- Backgrounds (how to make tiles for backgrounds is explained in Background-howto document) - list of possible backgrounds and borders between them.
- Decorations - list of possible decorations used (eg. woods, rocks etc)
- Colors used, or explanation of possible pallete.
- Some outlines for map designers.
By now I'll ommit points three and five, because of lack of needed informations. Future will show theses ones. In case of making only nomads race by now I made only specification of they's homeland - steps.
Steps (nomad's homeland)
Overwiev
Nomads live (originally) on flat steps - infinite area filled only with several trees and, of course nomads.
Used colors
Brown - also dark and light, grey and toned green from light to dark. Also dirty blue for water.
Weather conditions
Steps are very dry and windy (highly valuable cavalery and less acuracy when firing arrows), sometimes severall snowfalls and blizzards (reduced visibility and movement speed, loses in livestock and grain).
Backgrounds
Because of flatness of steps I think there is no place for any cliffs and rocks (we'll see how it will affect gamability). Proposed backgrounds:
- At least three types of grass.
- Dirt
- Rocky terrain
- Water (deep and shallow)
Proposed borders between backgrounds:
